Our assets are situated among the world’s best known operating mines, infrastructure and proven economic resources. We are undertaking extensive exploration efforts within our holdings, identifying new deposits of premium coals in the basin. Vitrinite is a young and progressive company. Our Story
Founded in the fertile coal-rich grounds of Queensland’s Bowen Basin, Vitrinite began its journey with the aspiration to not only excel in coal production but also set new standards for the industry.
Our Vulcan Mine, acquired in 2018, stands as a testament to our commitment and expertise. In a significant milestone, this site has rapidly advanced from an exploration tenement to a productive asset, with production scaling from two to five million tonnes per annum.
Navigating the complexities of mining approvals and market uncertainties, such as international trade restrictions and fluctuating coal prices, we’ve remained steadfast in our vision. Our team, which has nearly tripled in size, is the backbone of this success and the driving force behind our future growth plans.
As we look forward, our focus is on innovation and expansion. We are investing heavily in groundbreaking highwall mining technology and have mapped out a strategic growth plan for our next generation of assets, including the Callan Coking Coal, Karin Basin and Wilson Creek projects.
