Mick Callan
Executive Director & COO
Mr Callan is the Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of Vitrinite Pty Ltd, bringing over 23 years of experience in the Australian coal industry. He has worked extensively across New South Wales and Queensland, specialising in both corporate and technical roles in open cut and underground coal mining operations.
As a Mining Engineer holding a PhD in underground longwall geomechanics, along with a NSW 1st Class Mine Manager’s Competency and as a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Mr Callan’s expertise spans longwall geomechanics, mine planning, statutory management, and project oversight. He has also led the development of greenfield projects, mine expansions, and successfully navigated complex regulatory approval processes.
